Our story
Moksha began as an idea born in the classroom, a spark that grew into something much greater.
Moksha was started as a final project for the Creative Business Project at Vives Kortrijk soon turned into a real venture driven by purpose and passion.
The assignment was simple: create a business from the ground up. But for our founders, Veronika and Kirsten, it became much more than an academic exercise. Along with five other students, they envisioned a brand that would combine creativity, sustainability, and design and give new life to something as everyday as coffee.
Out of that vision, Moksha was born. A name that means liberation and rebirth.
After graduation, only two of the original seven founders decided to bring the idea beyond the classroom and into the real world.
Together, Veronika (CEO) and Kirsten (CMO) transformed Moksha from a student concept into a Belgian startup with a clear mission:
to turn used coffee grounds into beautiful, functional objects that tell a story of a chance to make a difference.
From that first prototype to our now-finished product, every Moksha pen represents a journey — from the coffee plant, to your cup, to your hand, and eventually back to nature.
Moksha isn’t just a business. It’s a story about growth, persistence, and mindful creation. One that began in a classroom but continues to evolve, driven by a simple belief: that even something small can make a meaningful difference.
