Why we do what we do
Every day, millions of coffee grounds are thrown away. To us, they weren’t waste — they were an opportunity. That opportunity turned into Moksha: pens made from upcycled coffee grounds, designed to give materials a second life and to show what thoughtful design can achieve.
But Moksha is about more than circular materials. From the beginning, we’ve believed in the power of community and impact. That’s why we partnered with Mariasteen, a Belgian non-profit organisation that provides meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Together, we produce Moksha pens in Belgium, combining sustainability with social responsibility, each pen reflecting both environmental and human care.
“Moksha” is a Sanskrit word that means liberation. For us, it’s liberation from waste, from excess, from the idea that beautiful things must come at the planet’s expense.
It’s a philosophy — to create with care, live with intention, and rediscover the value in what already exists.
To turn coffee waste into opportunity, reducing plastic and coffee waste pollution.
To provide high-quality, eco-friendly products that contribute to a cleaner planet with every purchase.
We want to build a future where sustainability and style go hand in hand, where every object tells a story of renewal. Because for us, coffee isn’t just a drink. It’s a cycle, a craft, and a chance to make a difference.
